Art Classes on Zoom with Meredyth’s Mom

from Phyllis Hansen, Director of Programs

January 12, 2022

Learn how to paint to echo the style of great artists with Maxine Cohn, mother of Meredyth Deighton and long-time art teacher.    For some time now a group of Ebell members has been meeting with Maxine on Zoom for “Art to the Max” lessons.  Usually, Maxine chooses an accessible artist and then talks the class through painting or drawing an art piece in that artist’s style.  No oil paints needed: everything is done using markers, acrylics, water-colors, crayons, inks or pencil.  Then, for the next hour, you sit down with your favorite coffee mug, relax and… well, just create.  Even if you are a complete novice, you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish!

Classes are held on Zoom on Thursday and Saturday mornings at 9.00 am (PST) and cost $50 per month.  Before each session, you’ll be given a list of supplies needed.  For more information, contact Maxine Cohn
