Moderated by Freedom Writer Founder, Erin Gruwell,
along with Original Freedom Writers and Student Authors

In partnership with Anne Frank LA and in celebration of Anne Frank Day and Jewish Heritage Month, The Ebell is pleased to welcome back best selling author and educator, Erin Gruwell.

“Dear Freedom Writer: Penning a Path to Write the Wrong” is a thought-provoking panel discussion that highlights the transformative power of writing, drawing from the experiences of both the original Freedom Writer authors and the next generation of Freedom Writers and of the bestselling books, The Freedom Writers Diary and Dear Freedom Writer: Stories of Hardship and Hope from the Next Generation.

Hear directly from the authors themselves how writing can serve as a catalyst for addressing and challenging societal injustices, allowing individuals to pen a path towards rectifying the wrongs in our world.

Anne Frank LA is a non-profit organization, that creates and presents innovative educational and cultural programs and community events that further the legacy of Anne Frank. In 2022, the Los Angeles City Council adopted a resolution declaring May 12 to be Anne Frank Day in the City of Los Angeles honoring Anne, her father Otto (whose birthday is May 12), and the nearly 1.5 million children who perished during the Holocaust.
