Member Spotlight: Joanna Linkchorst on Preserving Rockhaven | January 11

Come learn how Joanna is helping save Rockhaven, the iconic local sanitarium created by women, for women.

Rockhaven Sanitarium was opened in the Crescenta Valley in 1923 for women with mild mental and nervous disorders. It offered dignified treatment in a beautiful homelike setting—similar in purpose to The Ebell’s own Rest Cottage in its day. Family owned until 2001 and closed in 2006, the site now awaits a future as a historic park with a museum. Joanna, a lifelong resident of the Crescenta Valley, is president and a founding member of the Friends of Rockhaven, as well as a new member of The Ebell.
