Historian and curator Julia Long leads this two-hour walking tour, following in the footsteps of some of the women who inspired, and were inspired by, the City of Angels. Starting at the downtown Central Library, we'll stroll through the Historic Core and Jewelry District to see the buildings where these women performed, made discoveries, ran businesses, fought for the rights of others, and socialized with like-minded friends and neighbors — as we hear stories about their experiences and contributions to the life and growth of downtown LA.
Julia Long is the Curator of History and Exhibitions at the Pasadena Museum of History, as well as the founder and co-owner of Pasadena Walking Tours. She has been researching, creating, and leading tours all over the LA-area for almost 10 years. An independent historian and curator from Pasadena, California, Long studied Art History at the University of Toronto and Oxford, and her research now focuses mainly on women’s history and Southern California history.
