Just-for-us Tour
Famous Female Fliers and Their Machines
Join us touring this world-class air museum with over 200 historic planes and flying ephemera stretching back to the first US-built aircraft. Our curator-led adventure will focus on notable women and their aircraft, including a twin of the Lockheed Electra made famous by Amelia Earhart and featured in films about the aviatrix.
Another highlight will be a rare opportunity to climb inside the body and cockpit of an E-2C Hawkeye radar plane, the first Navy combat aircraft to be flown by women from an aircraft carrier. We will be guided by an air crewman that flew one of these in combat.
Afterwards, we will meet for lunch at legendary Flo’s Airport Cafe in a historic Millard Sheets building on site.
