Goddesses of Fashion: Monday Lunch
Fashion historian Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell discusses goddess imagery on and off the opera stage. From the neoclassical art of the 18th century and the French Revolution to the divas of the silver screen and the red carpet, fashion has woven myth, power, and femininity into an expression of the divine. Related garments from The Ebell’s historic costume collection will be on display.
Dr. Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell is an award-winning fashion historian, curator, and journalist based in Los Angeles. She is the author of Fashion Victims: Dress at the Court of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette and Worn on This Day: The Clothes That Made History.
LA Opera Connects in conjunction with the Eurydice Found Festival.
