Discover the fascinating career of early Los Angeles modernist architect Jock Peters
Christopher Long will discuss the architect’s remarkable designs for the influential developer William Lingenbrink, the short-lived Maddux Air Lines (eventually part of TWA), Desmond’s, Irene (Lenz) Gibbons, the Hollywood film industry, and so much more, including Peters’s iconic interiors for Bullock’s Wilshire. With a special introduction by Eric Evavold, Los Angeles Architectural Tour Guide and Bullock’s Wilshire Ambassador
This lecture will present many never-before-seen photographs and drawings from the Peters family’s private collection which are featured in the newly released monograph, Jock Peters, Architecture and Design: The Varieties of Modernism (Bauer and Dean Publishers, November 2021), the first book to survey his career.
A book signing will immediately follow the presentation.
