Monday Lunch: Women of Color in Medicine | February 10

  • This event has passed.

Monday, February 10, 2020 — 11:30 am

Women of color have been practicing medicine informally for centuries, but have only been practicing medicine as physicians since 1864, when Rebecca Crumpler became the first African-American woman to earn a medical degree.

Join us for an immersive conversation about healthcare and empowerment of women and children in Los Angeles. Health disparities disproportionately affect African American, Latino, and other ethnic minority communities. The outcomes for women in our communities affect the entire family unit. Please join our panel of obstetricians and family physicians as we discuss and share strategies for serving vulnerable populations in the Los Angeles area.

Jacqueline Allen M.D. MPH Asst. Professor, Charles Drew University Family Medicine Residency Program
