NOTE: New date is Wednesday, June 29th.

A Staged Playreading of Lia Romeo’s new comedy
directed by Diana Wyenn
featuring Tina Huang, Roxana Ortega, and Brandon Scott

Join us on June 29th at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles for a staged reading of Lia Romeo’s fresh new comedy The Lucky Ones. This presentation received partial funding through a Juilliard Project Grant.

Synopsis: Vanessa and Janie are best friends… until a cancer diagnosis rewrites the rule book and forces them to consider what that friendship means and how much it matters. Centering the power of female friendship, The Lucky Ones is at once riotous and affecting, and illuminates the value of love in the face of death, and the value of friendship in the face of… well, everything.

The performance is followed by a conversation with playwright Lia Romeo and Chelsea J. Smith, a cancer survivor and volunteer with the Cancer Hope Network.
