Vilna: A Holocaust Resistance Story is a musical based on the inspirational Holocaust story you’ve never heard. It tells the poignant story of the real-life Jewish resistance fighters and artists from the Vilna ghetto.

You’ll meet these young artists of the bohemian city of Vilna: Vitka Kempner, Abba Kovner, Hirsh Glick and Avram Sutzkever, who, in the face of being confined to the ghetto, form a secret brigade and find creative ways to resist. Led by a rebellious teenage girl and a young poet, the partisans escape the Nazis in the nick of time to the forest, where they take up arms and eventually reclaim their beloved city. Through the power of music, their revolutionary spirit lives on.

With an uplifting klezmer-influenced pop score by composer/lyricist Kevin Cloud, this hour-long, special performance will consist of a selection of 16 songs with the actors accompanied by piano. A conversation with the actors and creative team will follow the performance.
