Scholarship Application Directions

Dear Scholarship Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Ebell/Flint Scholarship. Please review the following instructions before you proceed with our online application process. Selection of Ebell Scholars is based on a combination of financial need, academic performance, and personal character as demonstrated through commitment to community or extracurricular activities and leadership. Begin by consulting the Terms and Conditions for specific eligibility requirements. If you have any questions about this process, please refer to the FAQs. The Scholarship program uses an application portal to manage the submission of all documentation.

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, May 15, 2024

In addition to academic background questions, a completed Ebell/Flint Scholarship application requires the following:

A. Answers to each of the following three essay questions:

  1. Your immediate and long-term academic and career goals including paid and unpaid internships and academically required field study or practicum work;
  2. Your volunteer community service or extra-curricular involvement over the past two years, including leadership roles with any of these activities
  3. Select either Option A or B below:

A. Personal challenges, obstacles, or setbacks you have faced including how you addressed the challenges.

B. Describe and explain in detail why and how you selected your field of interest.

B. Financial Documentation:

1. FAFSA Submission Summary

2. Student Aid Index (SAI)

3. Student Financial Aid Award Letter/Cost of Attendance (COA)

C. Three letters of recommendation from a faculty member, professional or work manager, counselor, teacher or religious leader (letters from family members or peers will not be considered). Reference letters are to be requested and submitted from within the application module.

D. Official Transcripts: order then upload the most recent official transcripts (pdf) from each post-secondary school attended.

TIP: Order your official transcripts and request letters of recommendations early to meet the application deadline.

Incomplete and/or late applications will NOT be reviewed. All components of the application must be submitted online by 11:59 pm PST on the scholarship deadline of Wednesday, May 15th.

  • You may save and update your scholarship application as many times as you would like. However, once you submit the application your entry is final and you will not be able to make any other changes.
  • You will receive a confirmation notice when you submit your final application. This notice will timestamp your application and enable you to print or save a copy of your final application submission. Please save the confirmation for your records.
  • You will receive notification when a letter of reference is received.
  • All applicants will be notified if they qualify for an interview. Please allow up to 6 weeks from the deadline date to get a response.
