Coffee Talk: Optimism Abounds in the Future of Female Cancer Care | September 20
- This event has passed.
Wednesday, September 20, 2023 — 11:00 am
Hear about the impact of our genes on development of gynecologic cancers from scientist-surgeon Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh, MD, PhD
We all have known someone who has been impacted by a scary diagnosis, but breakthroughs are on the horizon.
A professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and director of the G.O. Discovery Laboratory, Dr. Memarzadeh is also the affiliate Gynecologic Oncologist for The Ovarian Cancer Circle/ Inspired by Robin Babbini.
She will review relevant inherited genetic mutations for ovarian and endometrial cancers and discuss exposures that can lead to development of other women’s cancers. We will also hear how genetic alterations in these tumors can help guide new precision medicine approaches.
September being Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, it’s the ideal time to explore the promising future for our own selves and loved ones during our informal Coffee Talk Program.
