Writers Bloc with Ann Patchett | November 30

  • This event has passed.

Thursday, November 30, 2023 — 7:30 pm

Please join Writer’s Bloc and The Ebell of Los Angeles for an evening of discussion with the best-selling author Ann Patchett about her new book Tom Lake.

A mother recounts her younger years to her adult daughters, including a whirlwind romance with a guy who is now a world-famous movie star. It’s a story of family love and destiny, and, like much of Patchett’s work, about finding peace and contentment as we come to terms with our choices.

Ann Patchett is a celebrated author and champion of literary culture and independent bookstores. In 2012, TIME magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. Commonwealth, published in 2016, was selected as the New York Times Best Book of the Year. Her popular novel, The Dutch House, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

Kathy Baker is a multi-award-winning actress. She has received seven Emmy Award nominations and won three, along with a Golden Globe Award and a SAG Award, for her work on the hit television series Picket Fences.
