On Wednesday, March 8, Jane Gilman, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday, spoke to Laura Cohen about her life in publishing, from New York to Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles.
Scholars’ Breakfast
On Saturday, February 11, the Scholarship Committee hosted the annual Scholarship Breakfast. After a hearty meal, the scholars were asked to discuss and then present their ideas on the effects of Social Media on their lives. The Scholarship Committee also gained five new members during the breakfast!
Art Salon Reception
Wednesday March 22 saw the opening of the Art Salon All-Women Photographers’ show, The Power of the Female Lens, with works by Jane Szabo, Janna Ireland and Johanna Siegmann.
Mardi Gras Confab
On February 8 the Club celebrated Mardi Gras with some good, old-fashioned hankie-waving and dancing.
History Room Pop-Up Exhibit
The History Room is now housing pop-up exhibits featuring costumes, archives, art and other objects from The Ebell’s Historic Collections for the enjoyment of its members and guests. The first exhibit opened February 19, 2023, and the inaugural exhibit centered on Ebell women’s service during WWII. Check the member eblasts for news on new exhibits.

The Southern food restaurant Harold and Belle’s has been an LA fixture for over 50 years. On Friday, February 24, members enjoyed a very special lunch, made even more memorable by the power outage halfway through!
