Jane Gilman publishes book about Hancock Park

Jane Gilman, Ebell member and former Board member has recently published her book Inside Hancock Park.

 Inside Hancock Park tells the story of this unique community in Los Angeles noted for its elegant mansions and its classic architecture.

The book describes the history of the prestigious neighborhood plus a biography of its founder G. Allan Hancock. The 100-plus pages also cover notable characters, celebrities, architects and community leaders. Inside Hancock Park reveals the challenges the residents have faced to maintain Hancock Park’s integrity such as plans for a freeway dissecting the area or the removal of its stately palm trees.
