The fascinating Black History Month Spotlight event of Wednesday, February 9, featuring our very own Regina Jones, former publisher of Soul Magazine, the first bi-weekly magazine dedicated to the coverage of Black arts and entertainment, was covered in the Feburary 24 edition of the LA Sentinel.
The LA Sentinel is the largest paid African American owned newspaper in the West, published weekly on Thursdays and boasts a readership of over 125,000.
The article, which appeared on the front page of the Lifestyle section, drew a hearty response from the readership. “My phone and emails began ringing and dinging from so many, one that I hadn’t spoken to for 30-40 years!” says Regina.
With luck, it will spur her on to complete her memoirs. “I’m a behind-the-scenes worker and being out front is probably one of the hardest things that I have to do from time to time. I got the message that it’s time to work for what I believe in so, with renewed energy, I’m going with the flow.”
