President’s Message

from Patricia Lombard, 64th President of The Ebell of Los Angeles

December 2, 2021

It’s the holiday season and some of our favorite Ebell traditions are back!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to express my deepest thanks to Karlene Taylor and her committee for organizing a fabulous Boutique with various lunch options for those who want to enjoy a holiday lunch experience that’s tailored — pun intended — to be COVID safe, still super fun and a great way to support The Ebell!

I’m also deeply grateful to all of you who have made contributions to support the creation of a comprehensive Preservation Master Plan to guide the maintenance, restoration and renovation of our beloved home.

As I mentioned in my letter to members, we are delighted to report that we are nearly 40% of the way toward our goal! We welcome your help now as we raise the the remaining $60,000 for the “roadmap” to The Ebell’s future.

We are the generation that is called upon to safeguard the next 100 years of our stunning home so The Ebell may serve Los Angeles for generations to come. Part of that service is the ongoing work of our two philanthropies, Scholarship and RCA. I am deeply grateful for the thousands of volunteer hours Ebell members have given to execute the grant-making of our two charities. And many are doing double duty as Ambassadors for our RCA grantees on our Social Services Committee. Please be sure to read Arden Teplow’s story with a complete listing of the organizations we support to learn more how can help make their holidays brighter.

I know you share our love of The Ebell’s historic home and believe in our mission. I appreciate your membership and your support. I look forward to seeing you at the Holiday Boutique!

Best wishes for a wonderful holiday for you and your family.
