Join an Ebell Committee

August 15, 2022

One of the best ways to engage with the Ebell community is to join committees.  Ebell board directors and members chair committees that develop and promote programs, support our philanthropic efforts, and keep our membership connected and informed.  Here are some of the many opportunities at The Ebell to meet others and contribute. Please email us if you want more information, all members are welcome!

Experience the rewards of raising money for our club.  Fundraising is more important than ever, as we plan for a costly seismic retrofit and critical upgrades to our 95-year-old building.  If you have fundraising interest or experience, please do consider joining this group.  For more information contact Fran Varga at the email and number below.  The Development Committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at 12:30 pm; the next meeting is scheduled for September 1.

Our campus is filled with magnificent furniture, art, silver, archives, costumes, books and more.  If you would like to help preserve and maintain our collections, contact Denise Parga at the email and number below.

From its earliest years, The Ebell has always supported the Arts. Its historic Art Salon (originally named the Tea Room) continues to host quarterly art exhibits featuring local renowned artists; included in the quarterly rotation is The Ebell members art exhibit and a Black History Month exhibit. The Art Collection Committee oversees these exhibits, artist receptions and maintenance of our Ebell Club Art collection. The Ebell’s varied artwork is on display throughout the campus. For more information or to get involved contact Donna Russell at the email and number below.

The Costume Committee is a subcommittee of the Historic Collections Committee.  This committee is responsible for cataloging, maintaining, and exhibiting the Ebell costume collection with over 1,000 objects including dresses, coats, theatrical costumes, hats, shoes, purses, and parasols from 1870 through the present.  If you are interested in joining, please contact Beate Kessler or Jacqueline Corkill at the email and number below.
