Join advocates from across the globe at the Sixty Fifth Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW65) March 15th to the 26th. This year it is taking place virtually with side and parallel events, and workshops available to individuals outside of the normal NGO-credentialed United Nations program.

The theme of this year’s Commission (CSW65) is centered around women’s full and effective participation and decision making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence against women and girls, achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

In an effort to provide access to a larger and more diverse group of women, individuals can now participate at no cost in the workshops and programs by registering as an “advocate” through their website https://ngocsw.org/ngocsw65/ . Go to their website, sign up as an “advocate,” set up your profile, and then build your “my schedule” with the workshops and events you wish to view during the two week conference. There is a helpful “how to” youtube video https://youtu.be/sB-wXRhpqqM on how to navigate the program’s platform and how to set up your profile. The CSW65’s new 2021 virtual event platform will enable you to communicate directly with other participants, take part in chats, events and workshops, and provide access to resource information. You can explore the site and materials now in preparation for the conference.

This is an opportunity for any member of The Ebell of Los Angeles to sign up as an individual to further develop your interest and knowledge of gender issues, women’s empowerment, links to the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, and to gain a deeper understanding of what it will take to advocate, and work on and perhaps lead projects focusing on achieving equality for all.
