Leaving a Legacy to The Ebell

from Lorraine Spector, Director of Development

September 21, 2020

Thank you for being such an important part of The Ebell.  Without your membership and support we would not be able to provide the fabulous programming we offer or be the beacon we are for women.  And while today our buildings are closed, they are still a valued part of The Ebell and Los Angeles.  Conserving historic buildings is an expensive enterprise.  With our regular sources of income unavailable, we are looking to you, our members, to help with this enterprise. But no, we are not asking you to make another gift; we are asking that you consider leaving a legacy to help support restoration and preservation of our beautiful buildings.

By simply remembering The Ebell in your will or trust you will help us to build our endowment.  Interest earned off the invested endowment fund will provide annual support to fix, replace, or refurbish as needed.  An endowment of just $1M will kick off around $50,000 every single year.  The bigger our endowment, the more money we will have to keep The Ebell beautiful, secure, and safe.

Leaving a legacy through your will allows you to ensure that your loved ones are well taken care of.  The Ebell benefits from your careful estate planning.  You benefit because our beloved campus and Ebell Theater will be secure.
