Sheryl Lee Ralph, who kicked off the 2021-22 Ebell season by performing her one-woman show for Ebell Opening Day in October 2021, and who is also an Ebell member, stars in a new ABC mockumentary sitcom, Abbott Elementary.
The single-camera comedy created by Quinta Brunson follows a small group of teachers at a chronically underfunded public school in West Philadelphia. A special preview was aired Tuesday, December 7, prior to the January 4 premiere. According to the Hollywood Reporter review, Abbott Elementary “…feels like a reliable source of laugh-out-loud moments, thanks to sharply drawn characters and a winning cast.” It can also be watched on Hulu.
