Ebell Cares Support GroupCaring for an elderly relative, a spouse, a child, a friend or a member of the family is a rollercoaster ride.  While it brings its own rewards, it can too often bring along with it frustration, anxiety, loneliness and depression.  That’s why it’s important to know you’re not alone, that there is a place where you can express the ups and downs of being a caregiver, find comfort in shared experiences, find new resources or just feel safe and understood.

The Ebell is creating a support group, Ebell Cares, for those members who are caring for loved ones.  Open to members only, Ebell Cares will be a forum where the agenda will be driven by the needs of the members.  Here participants will be able to speak freely and confidentially about the issues that are important to them.  It is anticipated that meetings will be held once a month and other activities will be decided by the members.  Topics might include different aspects of caring: relationship changes, fatigue, and asking for help as well as educational issues on finances, patient advocacy, coping strategies, etc.

This is the first time The Ebell has hosted such a group.  If you’re a caregiver, come and see what the group is about and bring ideas of topics you want covered.  All are welcome to come to the first Zoom meeting on Thursday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m.

Ebell Cares will be a place where you can listen and speak with your heart.  To attend the first meeting, you can sign up when you receive the eblast or contact Arden Teplow or Laurie Schechter.
