Dear Members and Friends,

Welcome back to The Ebell!  I hope you are all relaxed and refreshed after an enjoyable summer.  As we begin this new program season, I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to every one of you.

Our 2023-2024 calendar is brimming with thought-provoking discussions, stirring performances, educational workshops, films, classes and social events that reflect the diversity of our members and community. From informative lectures to creative classes and workshops, we have curated a series that aims to inspire, educate, entertain and foster connections within our vibrant community. While The Ebell has hosted thousands of events serving the community for the last century, this is the first time we have announced a season in full, and with a specific focus on amplifying the voices of women in Los Angeles.

Here’s just a small sampling of upcoming programs; check out our website for more and be sure to mark your calendars!

Opening Day Luncheon with Susanne Whatley, LAist “Morning Edition” Host – Monday, October 9 ; Writers Bloc with Jeopardy winner Amy Scheider – Thursday, October 12 ; Spirit of Giving; Women Helping Women – Saturday, October 14; Las Colibri All Female Mariachi – Wednesday, October 18; Ebell Charter Day Luncheon and Fashion show “Mid-Century Matters” – Monday, October 23; Holiday Boutique and Luncheon – Wednesday, December 10

As we launch our new season, please join me in realizing our mission to inspire women and build community through arts, culture, education, service and the stewardship of our historic campus and collections.  I invite you to engage in conversations, explore diverse perspectives, immerse yourself in musical magic, volunteer on a committee and create new memories that will linger long after the events conclude. Our shared experiences are what make The Ebell a cherished institution.

I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated members, staff and partners who have kept working this summer and whose passion and commitment continue to fuel The Ebell’s mission. It’s your involvement that makes our events possible and enriching. I also extend an embracing welcome to new faces joining us this season—your presence adds a fresh and an exciting element to our gatherings.

I look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events and witnessing the connections and growth that will undoubtedly unfold throughout the year. Thank you for being a part of our Ebell family.

Warm regards,

Laurie
