Sonia Lara
Sonia is a makeup artist and model, with degrees from FIDM and Berkeley College. She also makes documentaries about youth homelessness. She joined The Ebell after meeting and being ‘blown away’ by member June Bilgore. She enjoys yoga, hiking and cooking. “My main motivation,” she says, “is to be able to have the resources to help those in need.” As of her plans as an Ebell member: “I want to be involved in the many programs The Ebell has to offer.”
Najma Brown,Najma, an LA native, started work at 19 as an intern for Black Entertainment Television, then moved on to producing in morning radio and, finally, running a production company. After working in the entertainment industry for six years, Najmah retured to school to fulfill her dream of becoming an attorney, at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.
Najma relocated to the Middle East to serve as Managing Director of the international department of a law firm in 2016 but returned to LA in 2019, and now works as Director of Business and Legal Affairs for the Oprah Winfrey Network.
